Account Technology Specialist

State and Local Government Industry Solution Group - Work with strategic State and Local Government (SLG) customers providing pre-sales technical/architectural support for large-scale solutions at strategic enterprise accounts. Build and maintain technical relationships between Microsoft and assigned SLG customers for the successful deployment of Microsoft technologies in the government environment. Assist Account Executives and Solution Specialists to formulate and execute Microsoft's long-term strategy for the account and evangelize Microsoft's products, technologies, and solutions to meet strategic initiatives and revenue goals. Identify customer requirements and provide feedback into appropriate product development groups at Microsoft. The ATS will be responsible for creating, managing, and owning sales and deployment of end-to-end Microsoft solutions to CXO-level and technical architect level customers. Products: The candidates' expertise should include broad and/or in-depth knowledge in the following Microsoft BackOffice products: Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, Commerce Server, Content Management Server, Exchange 2003, SQL Server 2000/Reporting Services, SharePoint, and SMS and the .NET development environment.

Skills and Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability working with executive level management at enterprise customers to map IT to business initiatives. The successful candidate must be able to articulate the business value of our scalability, availability, and management solutions and products and position them in competitive scenarios. Applicants should have a strong technical background with 5+ yearâ??s industry experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and presentation skills with the ability to articulate the advantages of Microsoft technology to senior business and technical decision makers as well as front-line technologists.

Experience in the Government Industry is preferred. A BA/BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline MSCE+I are preferred. 20% travel is required and the desired location is Los Angeles, California.
