We are looking for a motivated finance professional with a strong technical accounting background to manage and enhance Xbox Live internal control processes and policies and define accounting policies for new Xbox Live business models. Core Responsibilities are:
Ensure Xbox Live revenue recognition accounting is in compliance with GAAP.
Coordinate monthly Xbox Live Subscription & Microsoft Points revenue recognition with the Commerce Platform Group.
a. Design a systematic process to analyze and investigate revenue per unit variances.
b. Enhance current accounting processes & policies and implement recommendations to drive efficiencies and eliminate system and manual errors in an already complex accounting processes.
Participate in the creation of Xbox Live Subscription bundle sku creations to validate proper revenue recognition.
Provide accounting policy guidance to new Xbox Live business models.
Coordinate monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations on key accounts.
Involvement in ad hoc finance project activities that drive shareholder value.
An ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels at framing problems and is comfortable dealing with and making decisions in ambiguous environments. This position requires the candidate to understand revenue recognition based on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and be able to apply the principles to new business models.
Requirements/Qualifications:
CPA strongly preferred
BS/BA in Business, Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
Public Accounting or Internal Audit experience is necessary
Strong technical accounting and GAAP background
Minimum 5 - 7 years of related work experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent documentation skills
Proven project management skills
Ability to collaborate well with a wide variety of groups and individuals
