The Northwest District has an immediate opening for an Account Technology Strategist located in Portland, OR. As an Account Technology Specialist you will provide pre-sales, technical, and architectural support for Microsoft enterprise solutions. The candidate should have a strong, proven IT infrastructure background and demonstrate familiarity with the broad range of Microsoft products and solutions. The candidate must be able to (1) build and maintain â??trusted advisorâ? relationships with CIOs, CTOs, Enterprise Architects, and IT Directors, (2) drive adoption of Microsoft products and solutions, and (3) identify new opportunities for MS within the account.
Key responsibilities include:
Become the Microsoft trusted advisor to the CIOs, CTOs, Enterprise Architects, and IT Directors,
Work with Business and IT decision-makers to understand the customersâ?? business, IT imperatives, and initiatives
Demonstrate how to leverage new and existing investments in Microsoft products and services to create business value
Communicate the Microsoft technical vision and strategy to customers, helping them realize the existing and future value of their investments in Microsoft solutions
Work with Account Executives, Solution Sales Specialists and Technology Specialists in developing and executing the long-term strategy for the Account to evangelize Microsoft products, technologies and solutions that meet strategic initiatives and revenue goals
Create, manage and own product sales opportunities as appropriate, as well as drive deployment of Microsoft technologies and solutions using the Infrastructure Optimization (IO) Model as a framework for rich, meaningful customer conversations
Requirements and skills for this position include:
An absolute passion for driving business value through Microsoft software solutions
Ability to work with executive-level management at enterprise customers to map IT to business initiatives; ability to engage with a wide range of audiences from IT technician to CIO/CEO level
Strong communication and presentation skills and be able to articulate the business value of the Microsoft platform and position Microsoft products and solutions in competitive scenarios
Deep understanding of business and technical drivers for deployment of technical solutions and familiarity with products, tools, and prescriptive guidance to enable successful adoption and deployment.
Delivery of articulate, effective, and audience-appropriate presentations and demonstrations of Microsoft products/technologies, solutions, strategies, and initiatives
Articulate the technical strategy & vision while demonstrating business value to the customer
Demonstrated effective leadership skills and strong self-confidence in customer meetings
Demonstrated team coordination skills having acted in a managing consultant and/or IT department manager position
Proven virtual teaming abilities
Proven strategic planning, risk analysis, and business justification experience
Product Expertise:
The candidates' expertise should include broad and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft technologies spanning core infrastructure, business productivity, and application platform. This includes but is not limited to Windows Server, Active Directory, Windows Client, Office 2003/2007, Exchange, SQL, System Center, and Visual Studio. Proficiency in IT security solutions and knowledge of Novell, Linux, and other UNIX technologies are desired.
Qualifications:
A strong technical background with 8+ yearâ??s industry experience building and deploying solutions based on the Microsoft platform is required. Knowledge of competitive platforms is valuable.
